Realize "scenario-based development process"
GARDEN is a research and development project that promotes a "scenario-based development process" to realize effective and efficient simulation verification of autonomous driving systems by generating structured scenarios of external factors that autonomous driving systems face, based on autonomous driving system safety arguments being considered in Japan and overseas with the aim of practical application of autonomous driving systems.
As a result of the R&D project, an open source version of the autonomous driving system validation software "GARDEN ScenarioPlatform" has already been released, and now we are releasing a proprietary version of "ZIPC GARDEN" that reflects the knowledge and customer feedback obtained through the open source activities.
In addition, we will continue to upgrade the open source version and utilize it to create better products that contribute to our customers.
As a result of research and development in the GARDEN project, ARC will establish a technology that realizes effective and efficient safety verification using a scenario-based development process in a virtual simulation environment of an autonomous driving system. It will be made into a software service as the ZIPC GARDEN series.
ZIPC GARDEN will continue to expand its service lineup starting with ZIPC GARDEN Automation, which will be released in 2022.
Cloud-based verification platform software that automatically generates a comprehensive set of important scenarios to be executed in virtual simulations of autonomous driving systems by effectively and efficiently analyzing data and knowledge related to driving scenes using proprietary algorithms and architectures researched and developed by ARC.
ARC has already released an open source version of GARDEN ScenarioPlatform, an autonomous driving system verification platform software, in June 2021.
In the future, we will update this open source version with new experimental functions as needed. By releasing it widely and free of charge to the automotive industry, we will understand the needs of companies in the industry and reflect the knowledge gained in the expansion of the ZIPC GARDEN service.
